Pin-Up Dreams: The Glamour Art of Rolf Armstrong
Published in Paperback by Watson-Guptill Pubns (November, 2001)
Authors: Janet Dobson and Michael Wooldridge
Average review score:

Not just another artist biography
This book is not just a biography of Rolf Armstrong, it is also a commercial art history and fashion history of the first half of the 20th century. The book takes the reader through the decades in text and pictures. It is extremely well written-I got so caught up in his life story that I even got a little teary-eyed when he died. Especially interesting to me were the pictures of the advertisements of the time. Rolf Armstrong was beginning his career when color printing was starting to be used for magazine covers. The pictures of Armstrong's work are fabulous! Due in good part, I'm sure, to the fact that Armstrong's work itself was fabulous. The pictures of his 3,000 pastel palette were almost as interesting to me as his artwork, although most of the pictures he posed for, he posed with a brush and paint palette because he thought it looked better. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in art and/or the early 20th century.

Player's Handbook
I would recommend this study guide to any golfer that would like to take their Game for both Golf and Life to the next level. Jim and Wally did a wonderful job of showing us how the foundations of life and golf are so similar. I am excited to share with you that we are now using the study guides in our church to reach out to golfers and help them take their game for life and golf to a whole new level. Well Done!

An excellent and inspirational book for anyone.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is very well-written and thought provoking. Like Armstrong and Sheard's first book, In His Grip, the illustrations in Playing the Game are beautiful.

A Pocket Tour of Kidstuff on the Internet (Pocket Tour Series)
Published in Paperback by Sybex (October, 1995)
Author: Sara, Phd Armstrong
Average review score:

Excellent resource for kids and parents
This is an excellent book with "safe" addresses for kids to use for internet sites. The first part has just the right amount of background information on what the internet is etc and the second part is addresses with brief descriptions of what can be found at the sites. When I picked up this book for my children I was a www beginner myself, and I found it gave me all the basics I needed to start mastering the www. My children are 10 and 14 and also found it very helpful and fun. Regardless of the title, this book isn't necessarily for kids only! Some of the addresses have valuable information for adults too

Poetry Parade
Published in Paperback by Learning Works (December, 1987)
Authors: Pamela Amick Klawitter and Beverly Armstrong
Average review score:

Poetry for Children can be Pure Pleasure!
This book is concise and easy to use. Twenty-seven different kinds of poetry are introduced - one kind per page. A brief definition of the kind of poetry begins the page, followed by structure and an example. Next comes the opportunity for children to write their own poems, followed by a "Just for Fun" or "On Your Own" activity. This affords an opportunity for enrichment and independent work. The book is suitable for using with the whole class, small groups, or individually. At the end of the book are miscellaneous poetry projects, including a reproducible format for making poetry books. If you teach poetry and want to make it fun and easy, I highly recommend this book.

Portrait of a General, George Armstrong Custer and the Battle of Little Big Horn
Published in Paperback by Don Horn Publications (01 December, 1998)
Author: W. Donald Horn
Average review score:

US Military Hero Finally Portrayed Accurately
Don Horn's book finally portrays General George Armstrong Custer accurately as one of the great heroes in US military history. Instead of learning history from modern-day revisionists, Mr. Horn's research and factual accounts taken from peers of Custer capture the feelings of the day of Custer. Portrait of a General takes you back one hundred years and allows you to hear first-hand what the people who really knew Custer thought of him. Their comments indicate Custer was truly an American hero.

The Primary Teacher's Pet (LW-131)
Published in Paperback by Learning Works (September, 1989)
Authors: Linda Schwartz and Beverly Armstrong
Average review score:

Fun and useful resource!
I bought this book years ago when I was just starting my teaching career. It's amazing the number of times I have pulled it out for a graphic or used one of the ideas for a quick lesson. I taught primary grades when I began, but am now teaching 4th and 5th, and I STILL find myself pulling it out and using it on a regular basis! I honestly believe I have used The Primary Teacher's Pet more than any other resource on my bookshelf.
My stepdaughter is in her third year of college and plans to be an elementary teacher. I am buying a copy for her to use, too.
If you're an elementary teacher (or plan to be one) and you don't own a copy, you really should get one. You'll be glad you did. I sure am!!

Que Harias Tu? (What Would You Do?)
Published in Paperback by Learning Works (October, 1994)
Authors: Linda Schwartz, Molly Presser, and Beverly Armstrong
Average review score:

In the classroom...
As a bilingual elementary teacher, I have used this book for the purpose of helping children become more self-reliant, confident and knowledgable about how to handle every-day, common problems and issues. I used the topics presented as Journal Topics each day, and these always elicited in-depth discussions, among first and second graders, up to fifth graders. This book is extremely beneficial on so many levels. Try it out, as a teacher or a parent, in either language!

Quick Look Drug Book
This is an excellent reference book for court reporters. The new edition is jam-packed with tons of drugs conveniently cross-referenced by generic and namebrand. It's much, much easier to use than the PDR. The dosing info is helpful, as well.
